Its Alright,....Its Alright,....Al--right.

A few months ago, a good friend and amazing person, Michelle, asked if anyone would like to go to U2 with her. Well, let me tell you, folks, I am a gal that LOVES me a great concert, and I have been a fan of U2 music since I was rather young. (Well, they HAVE been around a long time!)

So, I told her that I was definitely up for it----and yes, it was this week and it was rockin'!

Now, many of you are not really into Bono, I know this from reading your blogs. And I know that he was slammed because of his 40 million spent on the huge structure that he used for his concerts, and he sometimes gets overly political, but let me tell you-----I can see why he did what he did.
Now, hear me out a second, Ok?

U2 plays only in stadiums these days----and Bono knows that when you are going to a concert in a stadium, the band basically looks like ants. Yes, unless you have the money to pay for the first few rows, you can barely see the band. Well, this was called the 360 Tour, as there was a huge circular screen that hung over the band----and a huge structure that housed this screen. I thought that it was rather brilliant, and a cool idea for them to make it like a space ship. It was fun, entertaining, and they put on a great show! And well, the amount that they spent on this structure, is nothing compared to what they will make for the entire tour-----of which, hopefully, some will go towards their AIDS charity.

Bottom line? I think that I am not the person to judge what others do----especially when they are trying to raise awareness for those that need help, but can't help themselves......

So----now I'm off my soapbox----the concert was great----with the exception of a few poooo-ooopy women that sat behind us that kept telling us to sit down. When you go to a concert----you stand and dance! HELLO! Just sayin'.

The band was phenomenal and they put on a fantastic show-----structure and all!

Snow Patrol opened for them----LOVE this band----so that was
exciting for me-----and check out the crowd!

Snow Patrol lead singer....

....and here is the controversial structure-----cool, huh?

You can just barely see Bono and the band with my camera zoomed out!

Oh yeah----look at that baby light up----pretty spectacular.

Here we are----the concert goers-----gorgeous Michelle and I!

"Its alright, its alright, al-right....
(And please ignore me singing in the background---force of habit----ah-hem)

Well, there you have it. I love concerts. I love live music.

It. Makes. Me. Happy. Inside.

Those "poopy" women ... did they snort and say "Well! I never!" ?

Sounds fun! I had someone ask if I want to go see Snow Patrol next month and I was like, "who? Never heard of them." But they're good, huh?

Aw, I love me some concerts too! There's nothing like hearing the music live. I finally posted about the wonderful award you bestowed upon me if you want to come see. : ) Thanks again pretty lady & rock on!!!

If I was a musician, and 40 Million was like pocket change, and I wanted to make concert-going exciting and rewarding for the crowd paying to see me, and knowing my tour would raise money for my causes, you betcher buns I'd spend 40 million on the structure. I think people who freak out about stuff like that are just jealous that U2 can spend that kind of cash...

What an amazing concert! I don't love U2, but it has nothing to do with Bono. They just aren't my favorite.

One month from tomorrow!

I bought the tickets back in February, and I can't wait!

I'm disappointed because I LOVE Snow Patrol and the LA show is the ONLY US show where Snow Patrol isn't opening. Instead we get the Black Eyed Peas. Ugh.

But who cares because I get to see U2!!!

I'm glad you had a a blast and I think it's ridiculous that people don't stand and shake their groove things at a concert.

It's funny because I am not a huge U2 fan, but I am a great admirer of Bono as a person and activist. He does a lot of good. Why shouldn't we all speak up and act out for what we believe in?

Wow! What an amazing structure! Sounds like a fabulous concert!

Thanks Shawn for the blog award- I have been a little behind...ok I lied totally behind this week, so I haven't had a chance to tell you! I will get it posted and a link back to you hopefully this weekend. You rock thanks for thinking about me! You are my idol!

Looks like a great time!! I liked U2 waaaaaay back in the dark ages too and every now and then they come up with a new song that I like - the perky one from over a year ago that I can't remember the name of. As you can see I am a big fan ;-)

Anyway, Bono is still hot in his aging rocker kind of way. And I can say that since I'm not a spring chicken myself (when was the last time you heard someone use that expression?)

And the house you have your eye on? Love it - love the woodwork and the beams.

Thanks for stopping by twonormalmoms earlier! Appreciate the comment!

Fun times! I hear Bono puts on a really good show. The last concert I went to, though, took such a toll on these old bones that I took 5 days recovering!

You know, I bet if he wasn't a person that tried so hard to do good, he would never have been slammed. No one slams people they don't hold to high standards. It really is unfair, isn't it?
Glad you had fun.

I love live music too. At the beginning of every {that I've been to} Chris Isaak concert, he always says 'thank you for coming out to see live music.'

TOTALLLLLLLY agree on the live music.

Just not U2.

Not a fan.

But I am glad you loved it! :)
