I used to have all these lists of books that I want to read around in my daytimer, or my sketch book, or on my to-do lists (I have to have at least 5 a day----to remember----yeah----you guessed it----no brain). But now I just compile it on GoodReads and I can decide what book that I want to read next! Great!
Well, one of the books that I had put on there to read was the aforementioned book by Ms. James. So, she sent me a message a few months ago----asking me to go on over to her blog and check it out. Then, a few weeks after that, she decided to have a book giveaway. And-----well, you guessed it again-----I won one of the giveaways! YAY me!
So, on Saturday, I got this great book in the mail----signed by Jessica herself, with a really nice note to me..... It was amazing! Thanks so much, Jessica! I can't wait to get reading it. As soon as I finish my current book, I will start this one. So------go right on over and check out her blog and read up on her book-----she is one talented gal----lots of awards and such.
Here I am with my new book. I'm rockin' the headband---fun!
Now, the next thing that I would like to blog about is very exciting for me! I know that I am supposed to be doing a Memory Monday post this week---so I apologize for those of you that have been waiting for that next trip down memory lane. (Anyway, my mother in law came today, and I was going crazy cleaning and cleaning and freaking out about----well----just having her stay with us for a few days---you know how that is----like to have everything perfect----aaaccckkkk!)
Anywho, I will have to put it off for next week, because-------my friends, I have come up with a REALLY GREAT IDEA!
No, I mean it! It is a smashing idea!
I had been trying to get a blogger brunch get-together for all the ladies or gents, (if they really want to come) that live in the Boston/NH/Conn. area. Now, all of you that don't live out here may be thinking that we are crazy to try and combine three or four states together for a blogging outing.....but folks, this is New England! It takes a couple of hours to cross a state here! Heh, heh.
And I have been mentioning The Brimfield Antiques Fair in some of my comments to others, as it is one of my favorite places to go-----and its so fun to shop for----well, just about anything that you are looking for! The Antiques Fair takes place in Brimfield, MA and is right off of Interstate 90, so it is fairly close to everyone in these three states, and we could all meet at a certain time, and at a certain place----walk around, take pics, and have lunch in the outdoor picnic area or we could do dinner in a restaurant nearby....
So, the date is: SATURDAY, MAY 16, and the website is here, so you can check out the address, as well as how to get directions, etc. Its free! But parking is about $5.00, depending on how close you park.
Believe me, it is worth the trip to spend the day at this fun outdoor antique fair! There are about 3000 vendors and shops, and there is something for everyone. I borrowed some great pictures that I found online----from Karen at this site----after letting her know, of course----I don't want to be accused of that "P" word! Thanks, Karen!
So, this will show you a bit of what is in store if you join us:
SO, HAVE I GOT YOU EXCITED TO SPEND THE DAY WITH US??
Bring your vans or trucks so you can carry lots of great stuff home, or just bring your recycled bags to fill up! If you are thinking of purchasing----cash is the best way, but some places will take a check. Dress for whatever the weather may be----as some years it has been pouring, and others it is sunburns all around---so dress appropriately. I will have my hubby and my little guy with me, as well as the two puppies, as pets are welcome, if you clean up after them----if you know what I mean----so bring family if they want to come......or just yourself!
(My hubby is very much in touch with his feminine side, so doesn't mind lots a girly girls around.)
Interested? E-mail me at SWANEESINGER(at)GMAIL(dot)COM, and let me know----so we can discuss where and when to meet. (But trust me, it WON'T be at the crack of dawn, as this girl is NOT a morning person!)
***As you have noticed, I love me a bit of alliteration, so I had to make the title interesting----heh, heh.***

Shawn...Hi! You don't know me, but I was checking out new blogs and found you. The Dump Cake recipe in the previous post intigued me, so I "appropriated" it for my readers. Giving you full credit, of course! Thanks so much, and look forward to corresponding with you!
Love antiques fairs--sorry it's too long of a drive for me! Have fun!
Crap! Antiques AND cool blogger friends... and I can't make it! My husband will be away and I will NOT bring 3 kids with me, so I am out of luck, but keep me apprised on the get-togethers.
And I love the headband, very cute!

That looks like such a good time! I think I will map-quest that place and see exactly how far away it is...it is the day after my b-day...could be FUN!
Congrats on the win!
I saw your little reading image on the side of your blog..I saw you read She's Come Undone....Great Book. I'm reading The Road right now...so SAD...I hope the end turns and lifts my spirits...but I'm not thinking it will....
I love goodreads too. I need to update mine more. I use to have it all up to date and then stopped after a while.
I would give anything to be able to meet you at Brimfield. I have wanted to go there for years with a bunch of my antiquing friends.
Not this year, as I have our local "Spring Cleanup" I work at. Maybe I'll find some treasures in the dumpsters!
All of you enjoy yourselves, (I'm pouting) and Shawn........post lots of pictures!!!
I may be able to attend! That would be super awesome!!
I'd go if I could! Enjoy!
I'm so glad you found me from SITS! That is really cool about the wire figure. How neat!
Loved what I read of your blog!
Hope you are having a beyond blessed week and I hope to hear from you again real soon. =]

You look so stinkin cute no matter what you wear or do with your hair! If you were having this fun little get together in August I would come. I'll be out there visiting my daughter then. Oh well, have a great time! I hope you will post pictures and blog about the whole adventure!
Okay I am officially jealous! That sounds like an awesome blog get together. If I lived anywhere near there I would be on board! That fair is right up my alley and it would be awesome to wander through it.
Oh and you definitely rock that hair band!
Oh darn...sounds like the perfect time. I would love to be there if I lived closer. I love the idea...LOVE IT!
Shawn, thanks so much for your comments on my blog. I agree, your husband's comments were really sweet! Have a great weekend.
This looks like so much fun! Can I just do some shopping off the pictures you posted? :) Great stuff!
Saturday's are a little crazy around here -- I"ll have to see how things work out.
I would love to join in on that fun...but as much as I love New England and plan to go there again SOON...it's a bit of a stretch for me from TN :0)
Love your blog!
What a cool fair! Wish I lived closer!
I wish I could go!
Maybe we need to have something like that around these parts...
I wish I lived in your area! That sounds fun.
And you know how much I love good ideas (moreso when I'm the one having them - but a friend's good idea is definitely a close second).
Have a great time!
Shawn.... the SIXTEENTH? As in a week from THIS Saturday? Oh dear. I am going to try and do what I can to come over. Not saying no just yet. Alyson, maybe we can dive together? We shall chat.
Hi. That sounds like fun. I have a scrapbooking convention that I'm going to that day though. Maybe we can have another 1 sometime.
I want to come SO bad!!! Why do I live so far away? Sad. Maybe next year - and I have NO doubts that you will find some fabulous treasures, I'm green with envy.
I want to come!!! Oh well. Too far away. Still. . .
And your photo? Well, you simply look gorgeous.
Yeah, Rhonda, let me know.
If I lived closer I would be there in a heartbeat!! I was discussing this morning with another blogger how hard it is to take a self-portrait photo that doesn't make me look like a crazed lunatic with bug eyes and pursed lips, and then I came across this photo of you -- and it looks stunning!
How come you are so fracking hot? Seriously?
