...I'm ready to go...
Yup, this is my final blog entry before I take off for the UK and Ireland. I am a bit apprehensive about going now, as I have built it up so much in my own brain, that I am afraid that I will be disappointed. Why do I do this?
I'm sure that the trip will go effortlessly, and will be much more than I expected---the weather lovely and the people charming. We won't get lost and won't have to spend hundreds on taxi's because we can't figure out the train or bus system. We will find great eating places for a small amount of money and they will all take my charge card, so I don't have to have my money exchanged and carry cash. I'm sure that I will bounce right back from the jet lag and want to walk and walk and walk to all the sights of London, with a huge smile on my face.
Then, as we travel to Ireland, I just know that we will be able to find a great, cheap car to rent and Bret won't forget to drive on the wrong side of the road.... They do drive on the wrong side in Ireland, don't they? Hmmm, never thought about it. Then, I'm sure that we will be able to see lots of countryside and maybe a few castles and make a trip to the Isle of Man---where my relatives are from. The Cannon's, don'tcha know. Maybe we will even spend a night there...
We do have a friend that lives there,----we are staying with her---and she asked us what we are planning on seeing while we are there, and I actually don't really know. I guess that I am a bit laid back when it comes to these things and just wanted to get a map and then decide what to see... I'm not a "driven" tourist, just want to mix in with the locals and soak in the ambience of the country---get the feel of what its like to live there.
Well, I guess I am ranting. Thoughts are like that, I guess.
So, "Bon Voyage" to me, my three readers. I will return a happier and more knowledgeable person and will report of my days as a world traveler when I return.
I am hoping that there will be lots to laugh about and fun stories to tell... I'm sure that there will be---cause that is how my life is----its how I roll.

Yay! I'm so excited for you! Have fun and bring me a present!
You don't have to bring me a present, but I do want you to keep track of the cool places you visit!
You sound like me--I STRESS about traveling. I don't really know why because once I get on the airplane I get over it and usually really enjoy it. Sounds like so much fun!
Wow, that is going to be soo fun! Hopefully we are headed there in September, so you'll have to post about all the fabulous places to go! GOod luck and have fun!
Hi Shawn,
I hope your trip to Ireland and England turned out to be everything you hoped for. I was very happy to host the first international cannon-bahe trip, and I hope I am around for many more. I had great fun and I still love my shells and sea glass. Be well Stephanie
