Well----we found this really great historic house to rent----month to month----until my hubby can get a new job and we can still buy the house that we were originally going to buy.
Uh huh---that is in a perfect world.
BUT I promised pictures of the house that we are living in now---it is way cool----but really a lot smaller than we are looking for, so we probably wouldn't be interested in buying it---and the price is RATHER steep for this size, as the town is a bit higher priced over all. But----it is fun to live here----and yes, I got unpacked EXTREMELY fast, as we already had an open house (yes, the house is on the market---and we have to show it---that is part of the deal) just a week and a half after moving in! AAAhhhhhh!
The front of the house----red brick----built in 1827.
The gardening shed and Aydan on the bridge.....
....over the brook that runs through the back yard.
And the finished boat----sail and all.....
Here is Aydan with another boat----up his nose?
Aydan----launching his boat in the brook....
....but it knocks it apart....
....and it ends up in pieces later on.
This is the kitchen.....
The living room with another fireplace-----and no, that is not our couch---
they left it here with the house----mine is at my theater.
they left it here with the house----mine is at my theater.
This is Aydans room and/or the guest room when someone comes to visit.
Isn't that bed amazing? Yeah----it came with the house, too....sigh.
(There is another room off of this one----its Aydans play room--
but that was still a mess---heh, heh.)
The main bathroom----the only full bath.
The family room----with its big windows across the back....
(Its hard to tell, but our couch is at the end---with the TV armoire----and you can
see a bit of the loft up in the right hand corner----
isn't that wood stove great?)
,,,,and yes, there is Marmelade....in her favorite spot, on the top of the armoire.
(There is a loft above part of the family room, and the cats pretty much hang
out there---then walk the beams...) That painting of Aydan on the
left was done by Maryn----one of my artist daughters----amazing, huh?

So, here we are.....just playing the waiting game.
But at least, we have a home.......................for now.

That house is amazing! And that yard is to die for.
Oh my gosh, that house is amazing. The house, the back yard, the brook. I'm wondering if I can come live in the shed? So beautiful! Glad you are more "settled" and I hope your husband finds something soon.
Ah, the old "boat up the nose" trick! Very impressive.
Beautiful yard.
The house an yard are beautiful! The yard alone would have me tempted to buy it (I've missed seeing you around - so good to hear from you).
Oh Shawn, I hope life isn't staying stressful for you. I hope you can enjoy staying in the house for awhile, or at least until you find the perfect house for your family.
Your little guy is so cute and what an absolutely heavenly place to have adventures. My boys would have loved that!
That place is GORGEOUS!!! I would die to live there! If you think it's not big enough, then you should come see our house - all 960 sq feet of it - with 5 of us living in it! Can we just all come and live with you?!!
Um, I am seething with jealousy!!!!! Thathouse and its amazing yard are so beautiful I could cry.
We are looking to rent a house in the next few months as well, same reason. well, my hubs has a job but the credit part needs fixing. Anyhow, our pickings are boring, generic, and ugly. I would die for a house like this to rent!!!! I need to move back east. Seriously.
it is absolutley GORGEOUS! I would love a place like this.
Great pics
I'm in love with it! So awesome! Sigh, I dream of owning a historical home. One day...
Have fun with your time in that gem!
That is an incredible house. Amazing. GORGEOUS! It looks like you are living in a fairytale!
Yeah, it's too bad that house is SO small for the three of you, what a shame!
Um, that house is ginormous.
looks like an incredibly delightful place to live even if it's just for the interim. I hope you end up with the place you really want. You are due some good luck!!!
Shawn, that house looks just like something you would love. It is very cool. You definitely don't find those kinds of houses in Albuquerque! It doesn't look that small though - you sure you couldn't live in it? VERY CUTE!
Looks awesome! I'm glad you found such a great house. Ayden is going to love playing in that yard! What is too small about it?
Ok guys----yes, it is a great sized house, but what I meant was----it is too small for what they are asking for it! The house that we wanted to buy was a lot bigger with about a $60.000.00 less price tag! Sigh...
And this one doesn't have any place for my hubby to have a shop.
Thanks for all your lovely comments, though----I will continue to enjoy it----we call it our summer vacation house! Heh, heh!
Looks like a great spot to pass some time. LOVE the kitchen.
Oh, I love it. Is it for sale? Maybe you could buy it and add on a room or two. It's charming and so darn tidy! You're amazing`
Hi there! I'm a new 'New England Blogger' (not on the list yet I see), checking out N.E. blogs. I just had to say I LOVE the house you are renting! It's too small for you? It looks huge to me! I adore old houses, with old wood floors and doors. And the stream out back with the rock bridge and the shed? The place looks like a dream to me. I was also very impressed with your boy's sailboat! Nice job!!
Best wishes on getting into your permanent home! I hope to stop by again!
